Handicapped Children

During Leprosy Survey, we identified polio affected children in the service areas.  Since leprosy prevalence was coming down we began to concentrate on other projects.  At this moment we wanted to lend our services to these polio affected children.  A team of doctors attended on polio children since 1991 from Trichy. Dr. John Karuppaiah, Dr. Satiyanarayanan,  Dr. Nizamudin, Dr. Vijayakumaran.

This helps them enjoy a fully liberated life.  Pre and Post-Operative Physiotherapy was given to them.  Polio surgery & Physiotherapy empower them to walk by bringing new strength to muscles.  With the help of calipers and crutches some are able to walk, some of them gradually leave off the crutches and sometimes even calipers also and walk well depending upon the degree of deformity.
